Abstract
A boutique fashion online retailer, experiencing double-digit quarterly growth, faced challenges in maintaining their culture and aligning business objectives with their mature IT department. Through an organisational assessment and customised workshops, we identified root causes and implemented shorter feedback cycles and a culture of continuous improvement. Initially sceptical, the teams embraced these changes, resulting in enhanced collaboration, reduced rework, and consistent high-value delivery. This approach transformed their work environment, fostering innovation and better alignment across teams.
Detailed Case Study
A rapidly growing boutique fashion online retailer engaged us to help manage their double-digit quarterly growth, which was diluting their culture and causing misalignment between their business and IT teams. Our initial organisational assessment, including personality assessments, retrospectives, and interactive sessions, identified root causes that differed from leadership’s assumptions. Customised workshops focused on fostering high collaboration, psychological safety, and aligning strategy with execution.
Implementing shorter feedback cycles and a culture of continuous improvement led to significant improvements. Initially sceptical, the teams embraced daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and transparent feedback, resulting in a happier, innovative workforce. They shifted from gold-plating deliverables to sharing progress early, reducing rework, and enhancing collaboration. Ultimately, this approach revitalised their work environment, leading to consistent high-value delivery and better alignment across teams.
